Beam-type racking is a professional warehouse rack designed for storing and retrieving palletized goods (each pallet represents a storage position, and thus it is also known as position-type racking). Beam-type shelves are composed of column sections (uprights) and beams. They have a simple structure and are safe and reliable. Based on the actual usage conditions of users: pallet load requirements, pallet sizes, actual warehouse space, and the actual lifting height of forklifts, we provide beam-type shelves of different specifications for selection.

Beam-type shelf structure

A. Column Sections: The beam-type rack (storage location rack) is composed of two vertical columns, horizontal braces, and diagonal braces connected by nylon self-locking bolts, and the combined structure is effective。

To prevent the shelves from becoming unstable due to loose bolts, double rows of rhombus-shaped holes are punched on the columns, with a pitch of 75mm or 50mm. Therefore, the crossbeams can be freely adjusted up and down in units of 75mm or 50mm when hung on the columns. The cross-section of the column is composed of 11 to 13 surfaces, featuring a large moment of inertia, strong load-bearing capacity and excellent impact resistance. The column of the beam-type shelf adopts the technology of automatic punching first and then cold bending forming, which avoids the possible crack failure of the column due to stress concentration of the column. To prevent collisions from forklifts and the like, it is generally equipped with column protection.

B. Crossbeam: The beam-type rack (storage rack) is composed of two column clamps welded together with the crossbeam rods. The crossbeam is made by welding two specially designed type clamping welded beams, doubling the thickness of the upper and lower parts of the crossbeam. This structure, based on the steel structure design theory, fully utilizes the load-bearing capacity of the material and features light weight, strong load-bearing capacity, and low cost. When the crossbeam is connected to the column, it is equipped with a specially designed safety pin with ear plates. The safety pin with ear plates cannot be easily pulled out, which can ensure that the crossbeam will not fall off after being impacted by external force. Heavy-duty shelves, also known as pallet shelves, feature a large load-bearing capacity, a wide range of height adaptability, mechanical access and retrieval, and high selection efficiency. However, their space utilization rate is generally not high.

Characteristics of beam-type shelves

1.Beam-type shelves have a simple structure, are safe and reliable, and can be adjusted and combined at will. The order of items entering and leaving the warehouse is not restricted. It is widely applied in the warehousing mode of pallet storage and forklift access.

2. The column sections of beam-type shelves are formed by connecting uprights, cross braces and diagonal braces with bolts. The column sections are interlocked with C-shaped welded beams to form the shelf frame, which is fixed with safety pins. The structure is simple and reliable. Each layer can be freely adjusted up and down in steps of 75mm or 50mm. 3. Beam-type shelves can determine the load requirements per layer based on the size of the uprights and beams. They feature a large moment of inertia, strong load capacity per layer, and excellent impact resistance. Under the relative design, the maximum load per layer can reach 5000kg.

4. The height of a single column of beam-type racking can reach up to 12 meters. The malleability of pallet racking is very large. On the basis of pallet racking, mold racking, mezzanine racking, high-rise warehouse racking, etc. can be built, and special oil drum racking can also be made.

5. Beam-type shelves can effectively increase the storage height of the warehouse and improve the space utilization rate of the warehouse. Suitable for storing all types of goods.

6. Beam-type shelves have a safer appearance and can be equipped with column guards and anti-collision rods to prevent forklift collisions. To ensure the safety of the layer load, auxiliary facilities such as beam stops, layer boards, and mesh cross beams can also be installed on the crossbeams.

7. Beam-type shelves have a low cost, are easy to install and operate, and it is convenient to find storage locations. They are suitable for any handling tools and are therefore the most widely used type of shelf. 8. Beam-type shelves can also be equipped with layer boards, which can be steel plates, melamine boards or grating nets. So as to use pallets of different sizes.
